Playback Theatre is one of the most widespread forms of social change theatre in the world. Playback North America was launched in 2011 to connect members of the 76+ Playback companies on the continent, to introduce others interested in learning more about the form, and to engage Playback fans and students. We believe an active network will help Playback realize more of its tremendous potential in North America.

Go to the Members section to contact people you know or to make new friends. Find others who share your interests.

Would you host a PNA member visiting your area? Post your offer on this Travel page. Planning a trip? Use this site to find Playback people happy to host you.

Go to Events to view or post Playback-related events relevant to all (e.g. classes from the Centre; regional conferences).
Share experiences and ideas

In the Video library you can browse or share Playback videos. Please join the 1-3 minute video contest!

Go to the Toolkit section to share your expertise. Help build an online knowledge base of best practices and tools.

Use the Blogs section to share your informal writing about Playback (e.g. about conferences you attend, workshops, reading, reflections...)

In the Photo library you can browse or share Playback photos -- from performances, rehearsals, gatherings...
Dialogue

We're excited to be kicking off a free teleconference series. Different PNA members will facilitate calls each month focusing on different identities or interests: for actors, conductors, musicians, teens, people of color, and more. Please sign up for one or more.

In addition to the teleconferences, you can start or join one or more online Groups: "Identity Groups" (for common identities), "Interest groups" (for topical discussions), or "Working Groups" (for common projects, such as the upcoming Festival in DC). If you'd like an easy way for your Playback troupe to have private online discussions, you can form a "Company Group."

In Discussions ask and answer questions of any sort (compared to "groups" which are focused and ongoing, or "blogs" which are about sharing your thoughts.)

Have fun with Live Chat --you can exchange messages with PNA members who are online at the same time as you.
